- UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level IV stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.
- B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or fellowship or minimum of two years of clinincal pharmacy experinece.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
- Other applicable state requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc.
- BLS & ALS/ACLS certification (BLS required within 90 days of hire; ALS/ACLS required for attending Code Blue).
- Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.

ResponsibilitiesThe clinical pharmacist optimizes patient care by providing appropriate, safe, and cost effective pharmaceutical care including drug dispensing, IV admixture program, and providing drug information. Works under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Operations Manager and will oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, students, and support staff.
