Contribute to the strategic direction of Premera's Pharmacy Program for both commercial and government (i.e., Medicare Part D) lines of business, make recommendations, and execute corporate-wide pharmacy initiatives.
Develop, implement, and manage clinical drug utilization strategies and provide pharmacy business support to key internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and lead clinical pharmacy programs that may include:
Pharmacy Utilization Management/Prior Authorization program
Pharmacy operations, including Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) vendor management
Pharmacy Formulary Program and formulary promotions
Specialty pharmacy vendor program development, implementation, and management
Support for Physician-Based Pharmacy Management Program
Provide clinical and business support to internal and external stakeholders, including Provider and Customer Engagement team, Sales, and Marketing.
Produce and analyze pharmacy cost trends, clinical and managed care presentations, and pharmacy communication materials for designated market geographies.
Support pharmacy benefit design development in collaboration with Product Services, Actuary, and the Pharmacy Benefit Manager partner.
Support medical management and clinical initiatives of Premera companies.
Provides management and leadership to key meetings like P&T.
Develop strategic approaches to medication management.
Review and develop assessments, including needed FTE to review different program needs.
Pharmacist with an advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MBA, MHA, MPH) or six years of work experience. (Required)
Active US Pharmacist license in good standing. (Required)
Four years of clinical program development, management, or consultation in a managed care setting. (Required)
Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred.
Experience in a managed care pharmacy.
Experience with project management.
Experience with Medicare.
Experience with Health Benefit Exchanges.
Familiarity with local and regional health care issues.

As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will research, develop, implement, and communicate to internal and external stakeholders, and manage pharmacy initiatives, programs, and services that ensure clinically appropriate and cost-effective use of medication that aligns with and supports Premera's clinical and financial goals. This role must be able to work effectively across the company with multiple stakeholders. The Senior Clinical pharmacist does all of the roles of the clinical pharmacist with a greater emphasis on broader leadership, management, and strategic deployment.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Plus Salary Range:
$131,900.00 - $224,200.00*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
