- Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program and PGY2 (preferably in Internal Medicine) residency program or equivalent experience is required.
- Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.
- Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or a certification deemed appropriate for the practitioner’s practice setting by Division Director is required within 2 years of start date.
- Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.

The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the department is responsible for providing acute care pharmacy services for a diverse population of medical and surgical patients, with additional services provided within the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and affiliated clinics. Within the department, there are 45 acute care and primary care clinical pharmacy specialists as well as 31 general and specialized pharmacy residents.
Job Summary:
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Internal Medicine (Thayer service) is responsible for providing expert medication management for patients on the Thayer Internal Medicine team through daily interdisciplinary rounding. Key responsibilities include managing complex pharmacotherapy regimens, supporting care coordination, contributing to policy and procedure development, participating in committees, engaging in research activities, and educating patients, students, residents, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

Salary Range: Minimum $58.41/hour - Maximum $ 96.46/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
