      About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

      You will serve as a Clinical Psychologist (Pediatrics) at the U.S. Army Health Clinic located in Stuttgart, Germany.


      Duties


      • Screen and interview children, adolescents, and family members and utilizes psychometric instruments in the assessment of psychological disorders typically affecting children and adolescents.
      • Assess and provide crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and family members undergoing unusual psychologically related stresses.
      • Provide individual, couple, family, and/or group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities for child, adolescent, and/or family psychological diagnoses.
      • Evaluate overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts.
      • Develop objective treatment processes, procedures, goals and plans for patients.
      • Maintains patient care documentation in accordance with Hospital and DoD/Federal Regulations and professional ethics.
      • Educates and trains primary care physicians and other professionals in the screening, prevention, early identification, and treatment of behavioral health disorders within the primary care setting.

      Requirements


      • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
      • This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records.
      • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
      • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
      • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

      • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements in accordance with Army Regulation 40-68.
      • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
      • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual season influenza vaccinations in accordance with MEDCOM Operation Order 09-54.
      • This position requires up to 5% travel (TDY).
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
      • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
      • Personnel security investigation is required.

      Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Pediatrics) Position:

      Degree:Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

      In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

      Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes a child, pediatric or adolescent treatment population: conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments; developing treatment plans; and providing individual or group therapy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

      Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

      Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
