      The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Ped - Neonatology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

      The Clinical Research Coordinator I will interact with research participants and will provide information on the study as well as connect participants with resources available. Will assist the research team with data collection for the study and interactions with participants. Will work closely with other members of the team in particular peer navigators, clinical research coordinators, CAPP director, and Pl's. Will assist in recruitment and retention of participants and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline. Will assist in scheduling visits according to research protocols. Assist in the coordination of appointments. Maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

      General Responsibilities

      • To collect and record preliminary data for clinical research programs.
      • To recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.
      • To schedule visits according to research protocols.
      • To assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
      • To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

      Key Duties & Responsibilities

      1. Maintain recruitment and retention rates, by assisting participants in understanding the study protocols and to connect families to resources needed. Will maintain records of interaction with participants and referrals. Coordinate visits and remote visits according to research protocols. In conjunction with Investigators, plans and implements the clinical protocol's goals and objectives. Maintains study’s compliance with institutional requirements.
      2. Assists in lab work, including the conduct of research EEG, MRI and evaluations as part of study visits. Will assist research participants with additional needs, childcare, transportation, etc. Follows study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all visit components for data quality assurance.
      3. Attend meetings with the research team at UAB as well as the consortium. The majority of meetings are on zoom but some may be in person.
      4. Performs general clerical duties (faxing, scanning, routing messages, coordinating the purchase of study supplies/materials). May assist in compiling, editing, and proofing written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
      5. Performs other duties as assigned.

      Annual Salary Range: $41,175 - $66,915
