      Position Highlights

      The Bailey laboratory in the Department of Physiology has a unique opportunity to join their team as a Clinical Research Coordinator I. ln the position of Clinical Research Coordinator I, you will perform physical assessments and administer cognitive assessments, and implement exercise interventions as part of an ongoing NIH-funded clinical trial. The CRC I will oversee data entry and compile data for annual reporting/review as required by NIH. The CRC I will facilitate interaction and liaison with professionals including CATS staff, RNs, polysomnographer, and study physicians.

      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Perform assessments of respiration, physical fitness, sleep, 24-hour blood pressure and activity.
      • Instruct and oversee clinical trial participants in performance of respiratory strength training.
      • PI will support CRC I in implementing any protocol/procedural changes.
      • Evaluate weekly training logs with participant to identify any issues/concerns. Provide directions to research site and meet participants as necessary to guide to the CATs facility. Develop accurate written records of participant information during weekly lab visits (weeks 1-24). Maintain physical activity data from fitness tracker. Document and analyze data for in-home training sessions from respiratory trainer. Document and record weekly participant week logs.
      • Implement and maintain communication with clinical trial staff in the CATS facility including appointment scheduling, nursing staff liaison and scheduling. Liaison with external vendors.
      • Maintain and document laboratory equipment in functional order, request parts and implement maintenance or repair contracts as necessary to keep inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies.
      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
      • One (1) year of relevant work experience is required.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • CITI training certification.
      • Experience with serum/plasma samples.
      • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
      • Experience speaking with members of the general public.
      • Experience working with older adults.
      • 100+ hours experience in performing cognitive or actigraphy assessments.
      • Experience and advanced skill working with REDCap and Xcel.
