      GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

      We seek a motivated individual for a Clinical Research Coordinator II position in the Pediatric GI Lab led by Dr. Harland Winter. The laboratory's primary goal is to conduct clinical trials, maintain a biorepository, and work on discovering novel biomarkers that predict diagnosis and response to therapy in children and young adults with inflammatory bowel diseases and individuals with autism.

      The primary focus of this position is to collect bio-samples and process samples for the biorepository, maintain the registry, and organize the samples in the freezers. Samples needed for specific studies will be selected and sent for processing.

      Candidates for this position should be strongly interested in clinical research and patient care as well as enjoy working with children and families. It would be ideal for candidates interested in gaining significant experience in medical. To that end, though not formerly within the expected scope of the position, the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to seek educational opportunities.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      A Clinical Research Coordinator II performs the duties of a Clinical Research Coordinator I (above) and may also:

      • Maintain research data, patient fields, regulatory binders and study databases
      • Perform data analysis and QA/QC data checks
      • Organize and interpret data
      • Develop and implement recruitment strategies
      • Act as a study resource for patient and family
      • Monitor and evaluation lab and procedure data
      • Evaluate study questionnaires
      • Contribute to protocol recommendations
      • Assist with preparation of annual review
      • May assist PI to prepare complete study reports

      SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

      The Clinical Research Coordinator II should also possess:

      • Ability to work independently and as a team player
      • Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems
      • Ability to interpret acceptability of data results
      • Working knowledge of data management program

      EDUCATION:

      Bachelor’s degree required.

      EXPERIENCE:

      Those with a minimum of 1-2 years of directly related work experience will be considered for a Clinical Research Coordinator II position.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

      A Clinical Research Coordinator II may assist with the training and orientation of new staff members.
