- The Clinical Research Coordinator must become certified in phlebotomy as this is a large component of the position. This certification can be obtained at Massachusetts General Hospital upon hire.
- Coordinates and/or performs all study procedures including administration of standardized assessment tools, blood draws and blood sample processing.
- Independently enters research data into study databases and ensures adherence to expected data lifecycle timeline
- Updates research data using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and other EDC systems
- Attends weekly and monthly departmental and job-specific meetings
- Maintains thorough IRB and regulatory documentation for research studies
- Assists with other research-related administrative tasks as needed
- High proficiency with computers, specifically the Windows operating system, is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to learn how to use new software is also important.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Applicant should be trained in phlebotomy or be willing to be trained in phlebotomy. Some lab/blood processing skills are desirable.
!*!GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Massachusetts General Hospital Corrigan Minehan Heart Center is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to assist with research in sports medicine and cardiology.
The successful candidate will be eager to become comfortable interacting with potential research subjects (largely athletes), and interface with other personnel at locations other than the Massachusetts General Hospital. A high level of maturity is essential, as the coordinator is given access to personal and confidential medical information. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential. Candidate must be self-motivated, independent in task completion, and comfortable accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues.
This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate studies or a career in the fields of medicine, public health, or research. It involves research participant interaction and administrative responsibilities as a member of a clinical research team.
This position is expected to start in July-August 2023.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree required. Coursework in biology or other pre-medical or related fields is not required but may be helpful.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties will be performed at the main campus in a hospital setting and at specific sites tied to the athletic community outside of Massachusetts General Hospital.
