      GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

      Dr. Nina Gold, a physician-scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Medical Genetics and Metabolism is hiring a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC).

      This individual will assist with contacting participants for an innovative genomics research study, the goal of which is to identify undiagnosed individuals at risk for rare disease. In addition to participant recruitment, the CRC will also assist with data organization, ongoing communication with participants, and collaboration with other researchers on scientific analysis and writing. The Clinical Research Coordinator can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the medical, ethical, legal, and social implications of implementing genomic medicine.

      The Clinical Research Coordinator can often work remotely but will be expected to be present at some participant visits at Massachusetts General Hospital.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Verifies subject inclusion/exclusion criteria
      • Collects and organizes patient data
      • Verifies accuracy of study forms
      • Maintains records and databases
      • Assists with recruiting patients for research studies
      • Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures
      • Obtains patient study data from medical records, biobank data, etc.
      • Updates study forms per protocol
      • Documents patient visits and procedures
      • Administers and scores questionnaires
      • Assists with interviewing study subjects
      • Provides basic explanation of study and obtains informed consent from subjects
      • Assists with study regulatory submissions
      • Performs administrative support duties as required

      SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

      The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, time management, and communication skills. Individuals interested in medicine, genetic counseling, or other allied health professions who are seeking work for approximately 1 year are encouraged to apply for this role.

      Work requires the level of knowledge typically acquired through completion of bachelor’s degree. Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.

      EDUCATION:

      Bachelor’s degree required.

      EXPERIENCE:

      New graduates with some relevant course/project work or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Clinical Research Coordinator I position outlined above.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

      A Clinical Research Coordinator I does not have any supervisory responsibility.
