      Job summary

      Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical graduates with GMC registration for 2 year fixed term integrated research and clinical posts in the Haematology Directorate.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holders will develop advanced specialist experience in a specific disease site with a focus on advanced cellular and molecular therapies. Post holders will be responsible for the day-to-day management patients having advanced medicinal therapies, including cellular (e.g. T/NK cells), and complex advanced therapy combinations. Essential experience in either haematology or oncology includes; satisfactory clinical specialty training to a senior level, a completed higher research degree (PhD/DPhil) and experience of the management of acute complications of advanced treatments. Training will focus on the design, establishment and execution of advanced therapy clinical trials, including grant applications and presentations/ publications of research results. The posts are not suitable for support of a higher degree and are focused on advanced clinical experience prior to appointment at Consultant/ Clinical Professor/ Senior Clinical Research Fellow level. The posts are funded by R&D and two fellowship grants from Pharma.

      • Registration on GMC Register Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent (e.g. FRCPath) Post Graduate Qualification to MSc by research with publications

      • General training in Haematology/ Oncology, three years full time hospital service, including direct experience of managing haematology/ oncology patients Post- foundation training in hospital appointments in haematology and oncology Demonstrable ability to exercise an immediate level of clinical responsibility as delegated by the consultant-in-charge
