Job Description

- Aiding researchers in guiding and facilitating flow of the clinical research protocol from concept and initial approval to implementation, analysis, and publication of data.
- Meet with patients to enroll them in the study, collect and enter their data into network software, guide them through the protocol, send appointment reminders, arrange medical appointment transportation.
- Provide other similar patient support as well as connections to resources like social services throughout prenatal care.
- Educate and guide faculty as well as broader research teams in approval processes.
- Assist in maintenance of research site compliance and quality while promoting innovation activities to facilitate this multi-site study.
- Provide guidance on operational goals, ethical considerations, and institutional policies bearing on clinical research.
- Manage central mail and phone line services for the research site, as well as addressing inquiries bearing on services, processes, and metrics.
- Maintain a training registry for investigators and key study personnel to ensure necessary requirements to implement safe, compliant research are met.
- Update, expand upon, and maintain an electronic Investigator’s Guide to Clinical Research.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics to assess the impact of study interventions and services. This includes collection, uploading, and management of clinical trial research data in the Clinical Trial Automated System (CTAS).
- Track and report monthly pre-award key performance indicators, including response times, escalation reports, and exception reports. become evident.
- Conduct further coordination and document management pertaining to the issue resolution process and ongoing efforts to improve services.
- Performs related work as required
- Bachelor of Science Degree Required, nursing or health-related field preferred.
- Five years of experience in research administration or as a clinical research coordinator
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Advanced degree preferred
- Robust knowledge of clinical processes, medical terminology, and the clinical research and grant life cycle
- Excellent oral and written culturally competent communication skills
- Strong project management, facilitative leadership, critical thinking, team-building, customer service, creative problem-solving, detail orientation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficient working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Access databases, and Microsoft Office
- Experience in an academic environment and knowledge of quality assurance and process improvement methodologies preferred
- Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures
- 40-hour work week, hours and days to be determined by the business needs of the department. Additional hours may be required
