      Join Takeda as a Clinical Research Pharmacist where you will provide guidance on drug handling, preparation, and administration of investigational medicinal products (IMP) at a program level and protocol level. You will also provide technical leadership for in-use compatibility studies to support dose preparation and administration procedures of investigational medicinal products, working closely with drug product (DP) leads and collaborating with clinical and device clinical development team members to support Takeda global clinical trials. As part of the Biologics Drug Product Development (Bio DPD) group within the Drug Product and Device Development (DPDD) department, you will report to Associate Director, Drug Product Development.

      How you will contribute:

      • Provide technical expertise in sterile and non-sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy.

      • Provide leadership in developing aseptic dose preparation and administration procedures and selecting infusion and syringe pumps and ancillary supplies, including closed system transfer devices (CSTDs).

      • Work with DP leads for biologics and synthetic molecule programs at the US, Austria, and Japan Takeda sites and collaborate with device clinical development to support the dose preparation and administration procedures as a part of the in-use stability and compatibility studies of drug products with ancillary supplies, including CSTDs.

      • Co-author pharmacy manuals for the IMP preparation and administration section and provide input to other sections.

      • Be a point of contact to the internal clinical team, including Clinical Operations, Centralized Ancillary Supply Management, Global Clinical Supply Chain, and external CROs managing Takeda clinical trials to address ancillary supply compatibility, IMP dose preparation, and administration inquiries.

      • Work with DP leads to keep the parenteral administration component database updated.

      • Be a resource to DPDD colleagues for infusion and pharmacy-related topics.

      Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

      • PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy program

      • Active RPh license in good standing

      • Minimum of 7 years of investigational research pharmacy experience

      • Experience with compounding and administration of injectable oncology and hazardous drugs using various ancillary kits and CSTDs following USP

      • Knowledge of sterile product compounding techniques for accurate and efficient dose preparation (aseptic compounding techniques following USP )

      • Hands-on experience working with investigational medications and/or devices during clinical trials

      • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards of pharmacy practice

      • Attention to detail and accuracy

      • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills.

      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

      • Knowledge of global pharmacy practices, a plus

      This position is currently classified as "hybrid" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.

      Base Salary Range: $130,200 to $ 186,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
