      Job summary

      This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Clinical Site Matron team in the Operations care group.

      You will be part of the Clinical Matron Team working closely with team members of all Care Groups to ensure that the operational demands of the Rotherham Site are consistently and continually met. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality and clinically effective patient flow management across the Site and will support the Hospital Lead Clinical Manger for Site and Patient Flow to support the smooth running of the hospital site and appropriate allocation of beds of patients.

      The Matron role will be responsible for the operational and strategic aims of the Patient Flow Support Team, driving efficiency and effectiveness at all times. Developing and managing a culture of change within the trust environment to improve patient outcomes and ensuring patient rare receiving their care in the right setting is an essential component of the Clinical Site Matron Role

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will be responsible for patient flow and hospital co-ordination with support from Clinical Manager for Site They will ensure all patients are at the centre of all decision making The post holder will manage and provide senior leadership and site management to support the smooth running of the hospital site and allocation of beds to patients Support the effective and appropriate use of beds within the hospital on a day to day basis Co-ordinate the admission of all emergency and elective patients as requested by the admitting clinicians into appropriate beds , taking into account the clinical priorities, acuity, staffing levels and skill mix on the wards and infection control isolation requirements Contribute to critical care capacity prioritisation and planning The post holder will forge strong links with discharge services and work together with divisional matrons and service managers The post holder will deputise for the Clinical Manager For Site and Patient Flow as required The post holder will oversee all communication, written and verbal both internally and externally as requested Co-ordinate the bronze site meeting and associated actions Raise all capacity issues with the Associate Director of Operations and the relevant HoNs, GMs and Service Managers or on-call out of hours manager to resolve / recover capacity issues
