      GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

      The Lurie Center for Autism, based in Lexington, is a multidisciplinary program that evaluates and treats children, adolescents and adults with autism. The Center is seeking a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to conduct assessment, therapy and care coordination services for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The position is a hybrid (two days per week remote) Monday thru Friday role with a standard weekly schedule of 32-40 hours.

      The incumbent should have strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment delivery and care coordination. The incumbent should also have the organizational skills and initiative to work collaboratively within the Lurie Center multi-disciplinary teams.

      Clinical Practice:

      Therapy and Care Coordination Services:

      • Provides direct, outpatient assessment and treatment to adults with ASD and their families .
      • Develops treatment plans and provides intervention and treatment working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary team.
      • Primarily delivers short-term (8-12 week) solution-focused interventions.
      • Investigates and provides referral/resource information for adults with autism and their families, particularly related to the needs of older adults. Provides care coordination/case management and referral and safety planning.
      • Presents and/or participates in formal and informal symposiums and case reviews.
      • Participates in formal Process and Quality Improvement activities.
      • Provides and reports assessments when abuse is suspected (disabled adult, elder).
      • Participates actively in Lurie Center safety team protocols..

      Organization/Administrative:

      • Takes responsibility for own administrative duties, including timely and appropriate documentation in patient medical record (EPIC), timely and accurate daily reporting of scheduling information and accurate reporting of time worked.
      • Attends staff, team meetings and other weekly symposiums as required.
      • Maintains required credentialing and licensures and fulfills the parameters of managed care including documentation required for insurance authorizations.
      • Maintains expected productivity in clinical therapy hours.
      • May mentor and/or train interns and staff as needed.

      • Maintains Massachusetts Licensure at highest level of eligibility (LICSW).

      SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

      · Expertise in autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders and/or expertise in working with adult populations.

      · Able to work effectively with adult population and family members, advocating as needed.

      · Familiarity with standardized clinical assessments; direct assessment experience preferred.

      · Strong assessment and treatment skills.

      · Good organizational skills.

      · Ability to communicate effective orally and in writing, including appropriate clinical documentation

      · In-depth knowledge of mental health diagnoses, procedures and treatments, related medications, acuity versus chronicity, developmental cycles across the lifespan.

      · Ability to develop and provide treatment plans that are symptom specific, evidence-based, and short-term.

      · Skill in crisis intervention/treatment/management.

      · Knowledge of community agencies, resources. Ability to advocate/negotiate systems for/with clients.

      · Follows as policies and procedures including HIPAA and confidentiality; able to maintain and conduct work professionally with sensitivity to and appropriate handling of confidential information.

      EDUCATION:

      Master’s in Social Work with Massachusetts Licensure at the highest level of eligibility (LICSW).

      EXPERIENCE:

      Minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience.
