      Job summary

      This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in the CTMUHB prehabilitation team. This is a relatively new service driven by an enthusiastic and innovative multi-disciplinary team to optimise patients health and wellbeing prior to treatment.

      This is an exciting time for AHPs in CTMUHB. We are looking for visionary team members at all levels to guide and implement service development to be implemented at pace to enable the vision of supporting people in CTMUHB to achieve their maximum potential - physically, cognitively, socially and psychologically. (AHP Framework, 2019).

      You will be an integral part of the team comprising SLT, OT, Dietetics and therapy support practitioners as core but also the wider multi-disciplinary team involving CNS, Diagnostic, Surgical and Oncological teams.

      You will be an innovative thinker, able to lead on a new project, work autonomously and as part of a team and a skill for collecting and analysing data.

      The right candidate will have a strong team ethos and will value the importance of involving the clinical teams as an integral part of this service development. The candidate will be supported in experiencing excellent opportunities for cross discipline working.

      Main duties of the job

      Provide clinical leadership for the physiotherapy aspects of prehabilitation, delivering specialist Physiotherapy interventions throughout CTMUHB.

      To manage a defined caseload of clients with complex needs within out-patient and community settings, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.

      To provide leadership for less experienced staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor.

      To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Physiotherapy Services within this designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.

      To contribute to the maintenance and development of the Health Board Physiotherapy Service.

      To use highly specialised, advanced clinical reasoning skills to determine a differential diagnosis.

      To regularly supervise Physiotherapy students on practice placements, and other students.
