      Job Overview

      We at Fairview are looking for a Clinical Specialist at our Riverside Sleep Clinic in Minneapolis, MN. This position will also travel to our Brooklyn Park clinic location. This approved for 64 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible. Typical work schedule is weekdays, 7:30AM to 4:00PM, no weekends!

      The Clinical Specialist is as an integral part of the care team accountable to provide quality patient care, ensure exceptional customer service, and efficient clinical service delivery to every customer. Participates in and provides informal leadership and mentoring support for all roles and processes within the Sleep Center. Contributes to meeting the regulatory and/or accrediting agency requirements. Performs various diagnostic testing, scores reports, and acts as the subject matter expert supporting care team providers and employees for all aspects of clinic and diagnostic operations. Coordinates daily patient care processes under the direction of the Sleep Center Manager and, Sleep Center Medical Director.

      Coordination of Service Operations
      • Supports the mission of the organization and Sleep Center services
      • Implements, analyzes, and reviews quality and improvement measures adapting as indicated by outcomes
      • Provides staff direction in an effort to maintain quality services and positive employee relations
      • Demonstrates ability to identify problems/conflicts, problem-solve to implement change, and resolve conflicts within the department
      • Consistently presents the department and organization in a positive manner
      • Participates in program development
      • Exhibits working knowledge of billing and third-party regulations, reimbursement, and coding
      • Ordering supplies, maintaining proper inventory to perform quality sleep procedures and coordinates equipment maintenance

      Provides quality patient care
      • Evaluate and treat patients consistent with standards of care established by professional organization guidelines and departmental policies and procedures
      • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors
      • Knowledgeable of sleep disorders and treatment options
      • Knowledgeable of sleep center equipment, its function and purpose, protocals for PAP therapy and various modes of PAP therapy, and protocols for oxygen therapy
      • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patient’s needs are met and Sleep Center policies are followed

      Participates in professional development and learning opportunities
      • Assists in program development
      • Fulfills licensure requirements
      • Participates in staff education and assists in staff mentoring
      • Active involvement in appropriate committees and task forces

      Effectively set-up equipment and deliver patient and provider education.
      • Educate patients, staff and providers on product information, use, and maintenance processes
      • Configure equipment and fit for appropriate accessories

      Coordinate equipment data management and analysis
      • Develops and implements processes to support patient care in alignment with diagnostic and customer compliance data
      • Collaborates with care team to ensure care plans are supported with timely and accurate information
      • Provides timely and accurate compliance information to providers

      Facilitate effective claim processing with all aspects of care plan
      • Proactively manage services associated to care plan, ensuring exceptional service
      • Supports patient insurance and/or financial securing processes as appropriate

      Performs other duties as assigned
      • Partner and/or leader in quality improvement initiatives and community education events
      • Serves as technical expert in developing new services
      • Supports operational service needs to ensure care delivery

      Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental l evel and cultural differences of population served

      Required:

      Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) via Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)– and/or the ability to become registered within 12 months

      3 years as an RPSGT and 1 year experience in a Lead or Supervisor role

      Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Assoc or Red Cross

      Preferred:

      Additional coursework in a healthcare related field

      2 years in a direct patient care setting

      2 years in a Sleep Health care setting

      Polysomnography Technician (PSGT)

      Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
