      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Support Services and Women's and Children for a member of the Clinical Support Officer based at Newmarket Community Hospital.

      The post holder will have their time split between Office Admin and the Main Reception desk. Usual hours will be between 8am -5.30pm Monday to Friday.

      The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, have a flexible approach to working and a drive to promote a high standard of care for our patients.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidate will have their time split in a variety of roles.

      The candidate will be expected to work on Reception carrying out various administration tasks including

      • checking in patients
      • booking follow up appointments for both West Suffolk Hospital and Addenbrookes patients
      • assisting in general enquires.
      • answering the Main Newmarket phoneline

      The candidate will be expected to work in the admin office carrying out various roles including

      • Preparing and checking clinical notes for the clinics ahead.
      • Answering the phone line to the Phlebotomy patient phone line.

      The successful candidate will require:

      • Ability to work calmly in a busy environment
      • Previous experience as an administrator/reception role, communicating with the general public and other service providers
      • Excellent IT skills
      • Adaptable and flexible approach to working
      • Working in an effective team
