      • Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trial Assistant to join the Clinical Trials Operations team at the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Clinical Trials Centre, located at Medical Foundation Building or Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Camperdown Campus
      • Base salary $83,384 - $93,362 + 17% Superannuation

      About the opportunity

      The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) is a flagship academic research organisation within the University of Sydney. The CTC develops and conducts large, multicentre, and international investigator-initiated clinical trials, commonly in collaboration with national and international research groups, and contributes expertise to trials run by others. The research conducted by the CTC covers a broad range of therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiology, diabetology, nephrology, neonatal and perinatal health, and currently a number of exciting projects investigating treatments for COVID-19. Our clinical operations team plays a key role in the delivery of high quality academic research.

      The CTC employs over 260 staff who share a combined passion for high quality clinical trials and research.       We are seeking applicants to cover a number of roles across our growing academic research organisation. The Clinical Trials Assistants will support the Clinical Trial Operations Lead and trials team.

      Your key responsibilities will be to:

      • perform general and trial-related administrative duties to support the Clinical Trial Operations team, including prepare trial documents, maintain records, data entry, update and collate materials, respond to queries, and explore and source solutions for NHMRC CTC trial team, managers and central services, as required
      • work under the direction of Clinical Trials Operations Leads and liaise with clinical trial operations team members and various internal and external stakeholders
      • provide other support tasks associated with clinical trials and other research projects.

      About you

      • bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent experience and/or education/training in Clinical Trials
      • demonstrated experience in basic clinical trials administration or experience in a similar field
      • knowledge of clinical trials administration processes
      • basic understanding of GCP guidelines and protocol requirements for clinical trials
      • excellent communication skills, well developed interpersonal skills and organisation skills
      • well-developed computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite, managing and filing electronic documentation and creation of spreadsheets
      • excellent attention to detail
      • ability to work as part of diverse teams in a shared working environment.

      Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
