Contact study participants to schedule study visits
Schedule the study visits within the various systems at Vanderbilt
Assist study participants to study visits which may include pushing them in a wheelchair.
Record study documentation in research chart in study database
Assist with study visits including but not limited to interviewing patients using questionnaires.
Assist the study team with additional support as needed including possibly processing lab specimens (training provided)
- Project Coordination (Fundamental Awareness): Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience with Project Coordination. Has worked on at least one project in a support role. Collects and collates project related material such as project initiation documents, project status reports, project metrics, and project completion data.
- Study Design & Conduct (Fundamental Awareness): Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.
- Communication (Fundamental Awareness): Clearly, effectively and respectfully communicates to employees or customers.
- Clinical Research (Fundamental Awareness): Knows the primary resources available to accomplish the job. Can successfully research simple clinical questions pertaining to the functional area. Files and collates trial documentation and reports. Archives study documentation and correspondence. Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving.

This position will work closely with study Principal Investigators and other research staff to help schedule and conduct those long-term outcomes study visits with patients that are enrolled in several different studies. Primary responsibilities will include scheduling of study participants’ research visits and assisting the patients with getting the various parts of the study visits completed (for example, escorting them to the MRI screenings). Other responsibilities could include administering questionnaires, conducting phone interviews, managing data/queries, as well as performing research administrative tasks such as subject reimbursement, etc.
The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, and an ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to interact comfortably and confidently with patients and colleagues..
A full-time Clinical/Translational Research Coordinator I (CTRC I) is sought to work as part of the Critical Illness, Brain Dysfunction, and Survivorship (CIBS) Center. The CIBS Center is composed of an interprofessional team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists, biostatisticians, pharmacists, and numerous trainees. The Center’s team works with patients who are or have been acutely or critically ill and who have suffered from delirium or long-term cognitive, physical, or mental health impairment. A big part of the CIBS center research focuses on following acutely ill/ICU patients after they leave the hospital and evaluating their long-term health outcomes. This is a key part of the research that seeks to understand the long-term trajectory of patients and how various interventions can improve those outcomes and thus the lives of survivors.
