      The Corporate Issues and Client Relations branch provides foundational support to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions through the development, implementation, coordination and monitoring of a wide range of divisional products and materials. Additionally, the branch plays a key role in support of issues management activities; leads program, division and ministry-wide projects; and provides oversight in the planning and day-to-day operation of services to drive operational excellence.

      The Corporate Operations Unit is a central unit responsible for the management of the Minister’s and Ministry correspondence and documents, providing quality service to the public and stakeholders, and for managing a broad range of corporate service standards and resources. It is also responsible for providing Ministry-wide formal training and support on CLIFF and eApprovals applications.

      The Correspondence Clerk enters incoming correspondence and document assignments into the CLIFF Correspondence Tracking System and the eApprovals system, tracks, proofreads and finalizes them for signature and provides other additional administrative/processing functions as needed.

      Please note: This position includes regular/frequent exposure to difficult and sometimes disturbing information, including photographs, involving health-related adverse events impacting a range of populations, including children and seniors.

      Job Requirements:

      • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED) plus a minimum one year administrative, clerical, reception or secretarial experience working in a professional office environment; OR
      • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Experience in keyboarding, word processing, databases, electronic mail and other standard computer applications (e.g., MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel).
      • Experience proofreading and formatting documents.

      Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
      • Experience with CLIFF Correspondence Tracking System.
      • Experience with eApprovals.
      • Experience working with Executive offices and/or senior management teams.

      About this Position:
      Currently there is one permanent opportunity available in Victoria.
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
