      The Ministry of Health is responsible for maintaining an accessible, high quality, affordable system for health service delivery that meets the needs of the citizens of the Province of BC. Its mandate is to support and enhance a responsive, comprehensive, regionalized health care system that promotes and provides for the physical, mental and community health of all British Columbians.

      The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues. The services are provided through its branches: Financial Operations, Financial Analysis and Decision Support, Regional Grants and Decision Support, Audit and Investigations, Business Financial Transformation, Business Services, Capital Services and Logistics Strategy. These branches provide financial advice and assist programs to meet their strategic goals and operational plans, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and central agency directives.

      The Documents Coordinator deals with sensitive and highly confidential information requiring a high degree of initiative, and the ability to recognize the importance and/or urgency of issues. This position is responsible for the coordination of all divisional assignments including briefing notes, correspondence, Freedom of Information requests, fact sheets and meeting advice by assigning to appropriate program areas in a timely manner. This position is the primary contact for the Division’s documents process and is responsible for establishing effective working relationships with all program area staff to ensure policies, procedures and Ministry standards are adhered to and documents are delivered in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.

      Job Requirements:

      • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)


      Related experience must include:

      • Six (6) months experience formatting, editing, and proofreading a variety of correspondence and executive level documents.
      • One (1) year experience using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard computer applications in an office setting.
      • Experience working in a high volume, deadline-oriented environment.


      Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:

      • More than one (1) year related experience in any of the above.
      • Experience working in an executive office with senior executives or equivalent (e.g., Assistant Deputy Minister or Deputy Minister).
      • Experience with CLIFF and/or eApprovals.
      • Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
      • Coordinating Freedom of Information requests.


      Provision:

      • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).

      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
