      Provide project administration support services for complex projects in this career building role

      Provincial Centralized Screening (PCS) is a branch within the Service Delivery Division (SDD) of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). SDD primarily provides direct community services to children, youth and families through regional offices across the province, in addition to centralized and integrated provincial services. PCS supports this work by providing centralized 24/7 child protection services by fielding most calls about child protection concerns across the province. PCS is also responsible for the Helpline for Children and the Foster Parent Support Line.

      Reporting to the Business Innovation Manager, the Project Assistant works on a high-performing, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary team of professionals. Overall, the team is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement and maintenance of business applications and operational requirements to meet PCS’s current and future needs.

      The Project Assistant primarily supports the scheduling, payroll, and tracking of PCS staff and processes in a complex, 24/7 operation, encompassing multiple worksites. This will be achieved by working with multiple business applications, dashboards, trackers, and working as part of the Business Analysts team. The position also supports PCS supervisors and Directors in hiring and onboarding of new and returning staff.

      Job Requirements:

      • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
      • Experience using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) in an office or administrative setting.
      • Experience providing administrative support services for a group of staff.
      • Experience managing and creating excel documents used for retaining data.

      Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

      • Completed an Administrative Certificate.
      • One (1) or more years of experience using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) in an office or administrative setting.
      • One (1) or more years of experience providing administrative support services for a group of staff.
      • One (1) or more years of experience managing and creating excel documents used for retaining data.
      • Experience providing project management support services.
