      Provide project administration support services in this career building role

      RoadSafetyBC is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia. RoadSafetyBC regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help ensure the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in B.C.

      Reporting to the Communication Officer, the Information Officer facilitates the accurate and timely communication of road safety information to internal and external audiences through a wide variety of written and digital media channels. The Information Officer works with internal and external subject matter experts to gather content, write new drafts and edit existing content for the public. The Information Officer ensures content meets BC Government and RoadSafetyBC editorial standards. The Information Officer is responsible for drafting accurate, accessible, plain language content that includes RoadSafetyBC program information, BC Road Safety Strategy and other website content, as well as content for internal users.

      Job Requirements:
      Education and Experience:

      • Diploma or completion of formal course work in Project Management, Communications, English, Public Relations, or equivalent.
      • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

      Related experience must include the following:

      • Minimum one (1) year demonstrated experience writing communications materials such as social media posts, announcements, web pages, newsletters, employee surveys, videos, speaking notes and/or presentations that are proactive and customer centric.
      • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects.
      • Demonstrated experience in social media marketing which involves creating, writing, developing and posting on a variety of social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).

      Preference may be given to applicants who have:

      • Experience using web content management systems (e.g., Drupal, CMS Lite) and web preparation software (e.g., MS Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator).
      • Experience with public sector administrative processes and policies (e.g., CLIFF, Journal Vouchers, contract administration, financial report production, financial policies and procedures).

      About this Position:
      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
