      RoadSafetyBC is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and establishing a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia. RoadSafetyBC regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help regulate the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in B.C.

      This position is based in a busy Contact Center providing front-line customer service via telephone to the public and various partners including Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC), Driver Licensing Offices, members of the policing community as well as physicians and medical office assistants. Additionally, the Intake Agent independently reviews, evaluates, and administers medical and remedial documents/information to provide prompt and accurate information in an adversarial and complex environment regarding Driver Medical Fitness and Remedial Programs including the Responsible Driver, Ignition Interlock and Driver Improvement Programs. In addition, Client Services is responsible for providing general RoadSafetyBC program education/information regarding Vehicle Impoundments, Administrative Driving Prohibitions, Immediate Roadside Prohibitions, and 24-Hour Prohibitions.

      The Intake Agent is responsible for reviewing and processing a high volume of complex medical and other program related documents into various computer systems, such as ICBC DRIVERs (Smart Term), Driver Fitness Case Management System (DFCMS), Vehicle Impoundments and Prohibitions System (VIPS), and the Document Processing System (DPS). In accordance with program standards, Client Services Intake Agents determine a client’s eligibility to drive and create a record of decisions/updates the driving record. Using analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills, Intake Agents effectively interpret and apply legislation, regulations, and policies to make initial determinations within established criteria/guidelines to approve, deny or modify driving privileges.

      Job Requirements:

      • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent (i.e., GED)
      • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and/or policy in complex situations.
      • Minimum one (1) year of experience providing client service in an adversarial environment dealing with the diversified public.
      • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a high-volume processing environment, entering data in various computer software programs.


      Preference may be given to applicants with:

      • Experience working in a call centre environment.

      About this Position:
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
