      Job Description:

      GDIT is seeking Sr. Cloud Developer who will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure for web applications. The Cloud Developer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing / improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; and provide customer technical support. The Cloud Developer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings. Successful candidates are eager to take the initiative on a fast moving cloud program where innovative thinking and reaction time are critical.

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Conduct full range of cloud development, administrative and IT operational tasks to support multiple domains to meet business needs

      • Responsible for optimizing performance, ensuring security, and driving innovation in our cloud environment regarding security and scalability

      • Experience working in environment having different AWS services (RDS, Lambda, Cloudformation, Datalake)

      • Experience working directly with AWS Infrastructure services (EC2, VPCs, Subnets, SG’s, Resource Groups, etc ) deployment

      • Required hands on experience for setting up AWS SSO, SQS, SNS, S3, Direct Connect Gateway and Transit Gateway

      • Configure AWS cloud monitoring and alerts for cloud resource availability

      • Constantly seek and suggest process improvement ideas and then lead the approved ideas to completion

      • Resolve complex requirements and problems escalated by the customer or leadership

      • Professionally present to all levels of customers clearly to help articulate the current project status, concerns as well as field any adhoc needs

      • Responding timely to all customer and team inquiries via Jira, Slack and email

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience

      • Cloud Certifications preferred (AWS, MAG, GCP)

      • 3+ years of related experience.

      • AWS Cloud Experience

      • Location: Opportunity to work from home, preferably in the DC metro area, traveling into the office 2 times a month or as needed.

      • Expertise in AWS Cost management best practices

      • Expert with AWS Quicksight

      • Knowledge of Containerization and Kubernetes

      • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodology

      • Experience in Jira and Confluence

      The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
