- Work with cross functional teams to architect, deploy and optimize scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure while adhering to industry best practices.
- Leverage expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps methodologies to achieve cloud objectives.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs by analyzing usage patterns, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing cost-saving strategies such as resource scaling and rightsizing.
- Monitor and log tools (CloudWatch and CloudTrail) to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs, ensuring high performance, reliability, and seamless integration with various systems and services.
- Stay abreast of emerging technology trends in cloud computing to leverage innovative solutions.
- Problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Client management skills to discuss systems as needed
- Expertise in core AWS services, including EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and VPC, to design and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure
- Proficient in the architect and implementation of robust VPC solutions tailored for disaster recovery and production-ready environments
- Experience in leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar languages
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and basic networking concepts (e.g. VPN, subnetting)
- Experience with designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD
- Proficient with AWS Containerization services, including ECS and EKS, to deploy, manage and scale containerized applications efficiently
- Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a US Citizen or Green Card Holder (required for working in GovCloud environments).
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the IT field required.
- Extensive experience with the spectrum of information technology operations, including networks, various industry standard software and hardware, telecommunications, information security, development, and project management required.
- Azure or AWS certifications preferred
- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer preferred.

Position Purpose:
The IT Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the NICB cloud network infrastructure. The position will be working within the GovCloud environment.

This is a remote position which means NICB grants the privilege and flexibility to work from a location within the boundaries of the United States or its Territories.

Salary Range and Statement:
The salary range for this position is $106,284 to $146,253. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors including the specific requirements for this position, the candidate's geographic location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
