  This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
  This is a remote role within First Citizens Bank's Cloud Services team, focused on implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Operations Engineer II, you will be responsible for providing hands-on support for cloud operations, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, and assisting with cloud infrastructure monitoring and incident response.
  The Cloud Operations Engineer II will deploy and manage cloud resources, troubleshoot and resolve intermediate issues, and maintain the overall health of cloud environments. This role also involves configuring logging and monitoring, enforcing security best practices, and supporting teams that write and maintain IaC templates. You will work closely with other teams to support cloud infrastructure and contribute to maintaining a secure, high-performing environment.
  
  Responsibilities
  
  
  • Deploy and manage cloud resources, optimizing configurations for security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, manage CI/CD pipelines, and automate cloud operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve intermediate issues, working cross-functionally to support applications and services.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure, enforce security best practices, and manage role-based access and compliance tasks.
  • Assist in designing scalable and reliable cloud architectures and contribute to cloud planning efforts.
  • Maintain and share technical documentation to support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
  
  Qualifications
  
  
  Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Cloud Operations OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Cloud Operations
  Preferred Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, or related areas.
  Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud Services.
  • Intermediate experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, and security best practices for cloud environments.
  Preferred Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate

  If hired in Arizona, the base pay for this position is generally between $104,500 and $159,500. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
