- As the first point of contact you will need to consider a wide range of information to ensure each patient's needs are progressed or referred on. This includes initial handling of complaints.
- Use advanced communication skills when dealing with patients who may have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Use a networked computerised system to manage multiple diaries and input patient information
- Obtain personal details and other sensitive social and medical information, often of a complex nature. Handle all information in accordance with relevant legislation and with high regard for confidentiality.
- Provide information and advice about Adult Mental Health services and access to NHS emergency Mental Health, including out of hours services.
- Receive and transmit information electronically using the Oxfordshire networked e-mail system, and provide general clerical support, including letter writing and correspondence when necessary.
