Purpose of the Position :
Under general supervision, this position creates and maintains measurement reports. Keeps Measurement equipment up to date. Provide and assist in the development and continuous improvement of MBUSI Metrology systems and practices. Designs tools, fixtures and gauges for new products.
Essential Functions:
Plans and ensures measurement audits for in-house and supplier parts.
Setup and configuration of all CMM equipment.
Analyzes measurement reports to improve dimensional quality. Controls costs of maintenance and calibration of measurement equipment.
Interact worldwide with Mercedes-Benz CMM labs.
Evaluates supplier performance by creating various reports and scorecards for management.
Supervise the administration of measurement standards with suppliers and coordinates frequency of reporting.Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to management, including your supervisor, or the Safety Department. Work safely 100% of the time.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education :
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience :
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):
Measurement fixtures and gauge design, Gauge repeatability and reproducibility (gauge R&R studies)Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc .:
Must demonstrate experience in designing gauges and fixtures
Must demonstrate experience programming Zeiss CMM equipment
Must demonstrate experience in Project Management
Ability to problem solve within a cross functional teamPreferred Skills :
Basic German language skills
