      Essential job functions are the fundamental duties of a position: the things a person holding the job absolutely must be able to do:

      Set up and Operate 60%
      • Set up and operate CMM and equipment to make complex and precise measurements of components, tooling and fixtures
      Read Blueprints 20%
      • Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints and templates for product specification such as tooling instructions, tolerances and dimensions
      • Create set up sheets/ documents
      Data Review 15%
      • Read and interpret measurements, output data and element graphic data
      • Analyze final product, checking validity of output to specifications required in blueprints and technical manuals
      • Recognize and identify final output accuracy and identify when the final product is inaccurate
      Calibration and Maintenance 5%
      • Maintain CMM machines to include probe qualification and regular cleaning

      The level guide is representative of the skills and education/certifications that are required to be proficient in a job grade. It is assumed that once an employee progresses grades they would also need to have the skills and education/certificates required for all previous levels.

      • Previous mechanical, CNC or CMM experience
      • Programming experience
      High School Diploma or equivalent
      CMM Technician I T5
      • Operate and set up machines as specified without programming
      • Interpret and follow manuals, blueprints and templates
      • Data review of parts, validating output with specified requirements
      • Routine calibration and maintenance on machines when necessary or required
      CMM Technician II T6
      • Create ,write and modify existing programs, completing manual and one off measurements
      • Data review of complex parts, validating output with specified requirements
      • Guides and trains other CMM technicians
      • Signs off work completed by CMM Technician I
      • Troubleshoot any technical problems and works with Engineers and technical support to solve issues as they arise
