      Job Title: CNC Machinist - Princeton, IN

      Job Description

      We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at a leading Gear and Gear Related Manufacturing Company based in Princeton, Indiana. As a worldwide supplier of critical gears and related components to various industries, we are committed to quality and excellence.

      Starting Pay Range:

      $24/hr. - $30/hr.+ depending on experience

      Available Shift:

      • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday
      • 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday

      Responsibilities

      • Program, set up, and operate CNC/Manual Machine Tools, including Schiess and Hankook brands.
      • Understand and follow work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
      • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
      • Perform programming on Machine Tools by entering instructions, setting tools, registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
      • Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
      • Maintain specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements during various machining operations including drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing.
      • Conduct measurements, interpret malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, replace worn tools, and sharpen tools.
      • Perform preventive maintenance according to company and machine manufacturer guidelines.
      • Confirm settings by measuring positions on first-run or sample parts, adhering to standards.
      • Complete required information in production, preventive maintenance, and quality records.
      • Maintain continuity on irregularities, recommendations, and other needs among work shifts.
      • Properly care for and maintain machine tools and work area.
      • Properly care for, store, and maintain all tooling, fixturing, equipment, and supplies.

      Essential Skills

      • College Level Certificate in CNC Machining
      • Significant CNC machine work experience
      • Strong knowledge of Machining and Machine Setup, Lathes, Milling Machines, Gear Cutting, and Gear Grinding Machines
      • Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
      • Proficiency in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience with horizontal or vertical boring mills
      • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in CNC or Precision Machining
      • Willingness to learn, listen, and train for up to a 2-year period

      Work Environment

      Work in a large machine shop environment. Steel-toed boots are required, and while jeans and t-shirts are acceptable, a uniform service is available if desired. This role requires regular talking, hearing, and seeing, as well as frequent walking, standing, and handling of objects. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and have specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. On-site presence during working hours is required.
