- Install tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts with precision.
- Follow program instructions and diagrams for setting fixtures and tooling sequences.
- Select and load appropriate part programs for machine runs.
- Maintain accurate and timely transactions in the ERP system.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment and programs.
- Load and unload parts from the machine, monitoring operations to ensure proper machine functioning.
- Check parts periodically to verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices.
- Assist in maintaining and servicing equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Train other employees and assist in other departments as required.
- Initiate actions to prevent problems and document quality issues, contributing to problem solutions and verifying implementation.
- Control further processing when a problem is identified and protect the environment by preventing pollution and identifying areas for improvement.
- 1-3 years of related experience as a CNC machinist.
- Ability to work on repetitive tasks.
- Ability to follow blueprints and tooling sheets.
- Proficiency in making minor adjustments to programs.
- Experience in CNC setup, machining, and inspection.
- Completion of schooling is ideal.
- Experience in Milling or Turning.
- Openness to occasional overtime.
- Forklift experience is a plus, with training available.
- Gear cutting experience is desirable.
Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team, responsible for installing tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts with precision. The role involves following program instructions and diagrams for setting fixtures, selecting and loading appropriate part programs, and maintaining accurate transactions in the ERP system. The Machinist will make necessary adjustments to equipment and programs, load and unload parts, and ensure machine functioning to finish parts. Additionally, the role requires verifying part conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices and assisting in equipment maintenance.
Work Environment
The work environment is a spacious 80,000 Sqft shop, very clean, with machines located around the shop. It includes 3 paint booths, an enclosed welding shop, a lunch room, and a training room, all bright and environmentally conscious. The team consists of 12-30 machinists, with the afternoon shift being ideal. Work hours are Monday-Thursday from 2pm to 12am, with flexible scheduling based on partner collaboration. Training is conducted during the day.
