- Set up and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), machining parts from large blocks and plate work.
- Read blueprints and use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform tasks like drilling, tapping holes, and 3D machining.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and change tooling as needed for each project.
- Use basic computer software to track part progress.
- Ensure parts meet strict tolerances using standard and digital measuring tools.
- Conduct quality checks on parts via visual inspection and precision tools.
- 5+ years of experience operating CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs).
- Experience with setups, tooling changes, and reading blueprints.
- Knowledge of adjusting speeds and feeds and producing parts with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality control.
- Previous experience with 3D machining is a plus.
- Experience programming with MasterCAM (any version).
- Apprenticeship or additional certifications are a plus!
- Flexible hours with a 1st shift schedule (6 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday).

- Competitive pay ($22 - $32/hr), based on experience.
- R&D is a non-micromanaged, small, tight-knit shop with apprenticeship programs.
- Job Shop with a focus on machining parts for large dies, 50% of work is automotive, the rest from various industries.
- 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (flexible start time).
- 40-45 hours per week, with occasional OT (up to 55 hours).
- Air-conditioned shop, and a great working environment.
