      Mastercam CNC Programmer

      Job Description

      Day shift (5am-2:30pm) CNC Mastercam Programmer with experience in programming (Mastercam), setup, and operation, along with CNC machining expertise and quality control. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes to ensure efficient and accurate production. This position is based in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will be based on experience and typically between $80,000-$150,000 (could be higher with the right experience).

      Responsibilities

      • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and Production teams to meet production goals.
      • Develop, optimize, and implement CNC programs to manufacture precise components.
      • Generate CNC programs from engineering drawings or customer-supplied .step files.
      • Accurately interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements.
      • Diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions and programming errors.
      • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in efficiency and quality.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficiency in CNC Programming (Mastercam) with 5-axis experience.
      • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
      • Expertise in blueprint interpretation and creation.
      • Experience with FANUC, OKUMA, and KITAMURA controls.
      • Ability to select proper cutters, considering speeds, feeds, and control system limitations.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 10+ years combined experience in machining and CNC programming for a machine shop.
      • 5+ years experience with Mastercam software programs.
      • Experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry and adherence to industry specifications.
      • Experience working with various types of metals.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
      • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and provide identification to meet I-9 and E-Verify requirements.

      Work Environment

      Work in a mid-sized machine shop with approximately 45 staff, including a machining team of around 25 and 4-5 programmers. The shop includes departments for deburring, quality, and shipping, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

      This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, California.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $150000.00/yr.
