      Mission Pharmacal is seeking an energetic Coating Technician to join our team in Boerne, TX.

      GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
      Operates and tends machines, transfers products into equipment and containers, weighs, records documentation, performs basic and essential maintenance and monitors and calibrates equipment. Cleans equipment and rooms per SOPs and monitors product quality and safety protocols by performing the following duties:

      1. Responsible for room and equipment readiness prior to start of production. Monitors processes and batch record documentation for compliance with MBR, SOPs and cGMPs during Coating operations.

      2. Follows and enforces safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Understands and complies with all department MBRs and SOPs in accordance with cGMP’s.

      3. Verifies all batches received by control number, part number, and quantity against the MBR prior to running the lot, recognizes errors and notifies lead or supervisor as required.

      4. Starts machine and observes operation to ensure all machinery is operating properly. Stops machine and reports any malfunction to Coating Lead or Supervisor. Introduce and remove product to or from coating equipment; transfers finished product to bins. Secures product for transportation. Replenishes coating supplies per workstation as required. Prepare Solution for upcoming jobs.

      5. Performs, inspects, and verifies in-process quality checks per MBRs and SOPs. Assists in product failure and customer complaint investigations.

      6. Ensures each product is coated according to the MBR specifications and standard operating procedures. Ensures product counts are accurate.

      7. Performs set-up of coating equipment, assigned preventive maintenance procedures, parts assembly, and cleaning hardware and records activities in MBRs and logbooks.

      8. Cleans equipment and room after completion of each lot per SOPs. Reconciles product batch records and ensures documentation is accurate and complete.

      Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

      Schedule hours: Monday-Wednesday: 5:00 am - 3:30 pm / Thursday: 5:00 am - 3:00 pm.

      REQUIREMENTS:
      High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year related experience and/or training preferred. Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, audits and procedure manuals to meet daily requirements. Ability to document changes to SOPs and MBRs. Ability to effectively present information to all Coating Technicians.

      While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; and occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

      The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally move up to 1600 pounds using a manual pallet jack.

      Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

      While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Dusty environment.
