What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign codes to ER, Outpatient ancillary, surgery, and observation medical records
- Use ICD-10-CM and CPT codes via the 3m Encoder and Dolbey CAC applications
- Abstract patient's account with assigned codes and finalize the abstract in Cerner
- Review scripts for meeting Medical Necessity in the Outpatient ancillary area
- Adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable rules and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma and successfully completed a medical coding certificate program or 2-year HIM program
- Experience in emergency room, ancillary, surgery, and observation coding
- RHIA or RHIT, or CCS or CPC certification
- Must be able to score a minimum of 75% on coding test given during the interview process
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 0-2 years of experience as an Rx Technician or Customer Service Representative in a healthcare-related service
