      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Assign codes to ER and outpatient ancillary medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT codes
      - Utilize 3M Encoder and Dolbey Computer Assisted Coding application for coding processes
      - Abstract patient accounts with assigned codes and finalize abstracts in Cerner
      - Review scripts to ensure medical necessity in the outpatient ancillary area
      - Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely coding and billing of accounts

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school diploma and completion of a medical coding certificate program or 2-year HIM program
      - Entry-level position; relevant education as specified above is necessary
      - RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC certification required within 2 years of hire

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Previous experience in medical coding or healthcare-related fields
      - Familiarity with coding software and electronic health record systems
      - Strong communication skills for interaction with physicians and office staff
      - Ability to train new employees or act as a preceptor
