      JOB SUMMARY
      • This position is responsible for assigning International Classification of Disease diagnoses, CPT procedure codes, HCPCS codes and Evaluation and Management codes to all physician offices, emergency department, and outpatients occasions of services for billing and reimbursement purposes, as well as for the hospital, state, and federal data systems. Must be able to work independently and as a team. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.
      JOB QUALIFICATIONS
      • Education/Training/Experience:
      • REQUIRED:
        • High School Diploma or equivalent
        • Basic computer skills
        • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, anatomy, disease processes, pharmacology, surgical procedures and abbreviations.
      • PREFERRED:
        • Minimum of 2-4 years International Classification of Disease and CPT coding experience preferred
      • License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
        • RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CPC, COC, CCS or CCS-P required
      • Pay Status:
        • NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
