What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately code outpatient and/or inpatient encounters using appropriate coding manuals and/or encoder
- Adhere to official coding guidelines to ensure quality documentation and correct reimbursement
- Communicate with medical staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding questions
- Research coding questions using available reference materials
- Act as a resource for business office personnel in researching failed claims and assisting with timely billing

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two years coding experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and medical terminology
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Professional Coder for hospital outpatient (CPC-H)
- Proficiency in 3M encoder preferred

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as a remote coder
- Familiarity with filing and retrieval methods and general office practices
