What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct second-level reviews of billing performances to ensure compliance with legal and procedural policies
- Audit medical record documentation to identify under-coded and over-coded services and provide education to providers
- Interact with physicians and patient care providers regarding billing and documentation policies, clarifying any issues
- Analyze payor performances to improve reimbursement strategies and trends
- Monitor and communicate changes in payor policies relevant to provider specialties
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a biller, collector, coder, or back office support staff in the medical industry
- Strong knowledge of medical coding and billing systems and regulatory requirements
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- OB/GYN experience is beneficial, but not mandatory
- Associate's degree from an accredited university is preferred
- Knowledge of auditing concepts and principles
- Familiarity with current trends in medical coding procedures and compliance issues
