What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement coding instruction classes
- Perform coding audits for optimization
- Provide educational in-service to coding and medical staff
- Act as a liaison to consultants
- Prepare coding guidelines and stay updated on coding policy and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current Professional Coder Certification or Current Coding Professional Certification
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in optimizing case mix index
- Knowledge of coding changes and ability to communicate them effectively to staff
