What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct high volumes of coding compliance audits in accordance with the Department Work Plan
- Develop, update, and disseminate training and education materials for staff and clinicians
- Perform independent research to stay current with CMS, Medicare, and OIG regulations
- Provide recommendations to improve coding, billing, and documentation practices
- Support the AHC Organizational Integrity/Compliance Program with various duties as assigned
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in Compliance Auditing or a related position
- Professional coding experience, preferably in Maryland
- Advanced knowledge of federally funded program regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid
- Must possess one of the specified current coding certifications (e.g., CCS, CPC, etc.)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Outpatient and hospital coding experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Experience in clinic practice settings
