What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate daily coding and support functions in Health Information Management Services
- Review management exception reports, correct discrepancies, and identify opportunities to reduce inpatient DNFB
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures in accordance with established guidelines
- Train coding staff on current regulations, codes, and data requirements
- Perform quantitative and qualitative reviews to verify coding and abstracting accuracy

What is Required (Qualifications):
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or equivalent certification/degree
- College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Three years of coding experience in a Health Information Management Department or equivalent
- Experience with implementing and maintaining computer systems
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and improvement opportunities

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience serving as a coding subject matter expert for other departments
- Familiarity with Focus PDCA methodology to enhance coding performance
- Prior experience in a hospital setting or large healthcare organization
