What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Create, design, and deliver coding education on at least two coding topics per month
- Review coding quality reports for error trends and develop educational content accordingly
- Assist the coding manager and department with coder questions and inquiries
- Attend coding education sessions and maintain relevant coding credentials
- Create and distribute a monthly coding newsletter
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 3-5 years of experience as an acute hospital coding educator
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management
- RHIA or CCS certification
- Proficient in MS Office suite with the ability to design professional coding education
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Over 5 years of coding educator experience in a large, complex, multi-system acute care hospital organization
- Master’s Degree in Health Information Management
- AHIMA or AAPC Coding Credentials
