What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate the creation and updating of Coding Policies and edit configurations within the claims editing system
- Respond to provider and member appeals, providing appropriate rationale for Coding Policy edits
- Monitor changes to codes and guidelines from external agencies such as AMA, CMS, and Medicaid
- Assist with the implementation of coding changes to the claims adjudication and editing software
- Ensure compliance with coding regulations and maintain accuracy in coding practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Coding certification through AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS) upon hire
- Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to CPT coding from chart extraction
- 5 years of excellent writing and grammar skills
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in detailed coding applications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Access
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in a Healthcare or Health Plan setting
- 2 years of experience with Facets Claims Adjudication system and/or Optum CES editing software
