What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure accurate coding and entry of charges for various specialties
- Maintain compliance with billing processes and applicable laws
- Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and insurance representatives
- Update patient demographic information and file claims to insurance companies
- Review documentation and assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical billing office
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPC certification required within 7 months of accepting the position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in medical coding and knowledge of managed care plans
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Experience with multi-disciplinary communication strategies and initiatives
