      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Assign appropriate principle and secondary diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters, ensuring accurate DRG assignment
      - Achieve and maintain 95% accuracy on quality reviews and meet assigned productivity standards
      - Abstract statistical data from medical records and enter information according to the employer's guidelines
      - Coach and train other coders on coding and abstracting according to established conventions and guidelines
      - Collaborate with physicians and nurses to clarify or complete records and resolve ambiguous coding episodes

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school diploma required
      - Must have successfully completed an approved coding program or be a graduate of a Health Information Management program
      - Minimum of three (3) years of coding experience in an acute care Level I trauma hospital environment
      - Certification through the American Health Information Management Association as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS
      - Advanced knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and abstracting, and MS-DRG classification

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in physician office coding, charging, and billing
      - Knowledge of Epic EHR and 3M 360 coding and abstracting software
      - Proven coding accuracy rate of 95% in previous roles
      - Familiarity with reimbursement principles for Medicare and Medicaid
      - Strong organizational and leadership skills
