Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary
The Cogito Analyst and ETL Developer is responsible for the Epic Caboodle and Clarity databases, the daily ETL processes, and Caboodle development. The person in the position should have an expert understanding of the Clarity and Caboodle data models and their relationship to Chronicles. The Developer will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the Analytics SSIS database, and in conjunction with the Analytics Service Lead, ensure the data that is being exported from Epic and sent to external vendors does not violate any PHI rules. This position acts as a support person for the Business Intelligence Developer and can assist with any issues they are experiencing with the database. During slow times, this position may help with reporting requests.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Configure and maintain the Cogito database according to the environment strategy.
• Modify the ETL process to meet organizational needs.
• Ensure optimal performance and integrity of ETL process by maintaining Epic best practices.
• Schedule and monitor a recurring Clarity extract process.
• Add new tables and columns to extracts as needed.
• Verify the Clarity ETL process completes every day.
• Provide quick notification to the Analytics manager and Service Lead when the ETL has failed and has not completed by the team morning reports start to run.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Clarity Console and ETL process errors.
• Monitor database size and health.
• Participate in the change control process for all planned application and technical activities.
• On rotation with the ETL backup, provide on call support to troubleshoot database issues that occur after working hours.
• Responsible for ensuring all upgrade related tasks for the ETL, Caboodle Development, and SlicerDicer development are completed, and properly validated prior to the upgrade.
• Provide support when upgrades start and ensure the database restarts properly.
• Creates Reporting Workbench reports, and Radar Dashboards when necessary.
• Adheres to departmental documentation standards
• Adheres to data migration standards
• Works with a multidisciplinary team to accomplish deliverables
• Works with Application Team to ensure system configuration allows reporting to meet business needs
• Independently debugs problem queries or problem-solves complex reporting problems
• Manages the SSIS database and monitors the health of the database.
• Provides assistance to Business Intelligence Developers on writing efficient queries.Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Informatics, Business, Mathematics or a healthcare major from an accredited college or university; Graduate degree or advanced certification strongly preferred
• Five years of healthcare or analytical experience may be substituted in lieu of the educational requirement
• Epic Cogito Administration Certification is required.
• Successful completion of Epic Certification within six months of completing Epic Training
• Valid Indiana driver’s license
