      Job Summary

      We’re looking for a talented IBM Cognos Developer to join our Data Analytics team and help drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on designing and delivering high-impact reports and dashboards using IBM Cognos Analytics.

      Primary Job Functions:

      • Develop and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using IBM Cognos Report Studio in conjunction with Costpoint Enterprise Reporting (CER).
      • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
      • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization across reporting assets.
      • Implement security and access controls within Cognos reports.
      • Contribute to metadata modeling efforts using IBM Cognos Framework Manager.
      • Assist in building reusable data models and packages to support reporting needs.
      • Collaborate with data architects to align models IBM with data warehouse structures.
      • Support versioning and impact analysis for model updates.
      • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
      • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Cognos-related issues.
      • Document reporting processes and conduct of user training as needed.

      Education, Experience and Certification:

      Required: Bachelor’s degree

      Description: Computer Science, Information Systems, or field

      Preferred: 3 Years of Experience

      Description: IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Workspace Advanced, etc.)

      Required: Certification

      Description: IBM Cognos Certifications

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
      • Proven ability to design and deliver user-friendly, performance-optimized reports.
      • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
      • Experience with IBM Cognos Framework Manager and metadata modeling.
      • Experience with Cognos reporting for Costpoint.
      • Familiarity with other BI tools such as Power BI.
      • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.

      Travel Requirements:

      • Less than 10% – Occasional travel for audits, training, or team meetings.
