What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure daily accomplishments align with company goals for cash collections and accounts receivable over 90 days
- Research outstanding balances and implement necessary collection actions to resolve issues promptly
- Resubmit accurate claims in various formats, including CMS-1500 and electronic 837
- Negotiate payment plans with patients according to company collection policies
- Collaborate with third-party collection agencies and maintain professional communication with colleagues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college education is a plus
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical collections with knowledge of managed care and insurance reimbursement
- Familiarity with automated billing systems; experience with CPR+ preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to type 40 wpm and proficiency with a 10-key calculator
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in home infusion therapy collections
- Working knowledge of metric measurements, basic accounting practices, and coding (ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS)
- Ability to independently obtain and interpret information
